fter forty years out of business, Chris Brooks has dedicated his time to restore and reinstate his own family’s publishing house with the release of his first photographic publication The Brooks Press of Wirksworth
. Brooks has devoted the past decade to re-visiting his childhood home in Derbyshire and rounding up a passionate and refined collection of contrasting images. Ranging from desolate to more optimistic large-format colour portraits and landscapes, Brooks’ collection represents the history and meaning of what it is to be ‘in’ and ‘of ’ England.
