This year’s open call exhibition marked a new venture for PYLOT, as we exhibited at shop 13 at Truman Brewery, as part of FREE RANGE: Photography Week 01.

For the first time, the five-day exhibit offered PYLOT the chance to curate a schedule of events, alongside the open call exhibition of twelve selected finalists, from the 2018 Open Call Competition.

The schedule comprised of a private view, two days of free portfolio reviews, one day of photography-focused talks with the likes of Jewellery Designer Slim Barrett, BJP’s Izabella Radwanska Zhang and Splash and Grab’s Max Ferguson, Wallpaper Photographic Director Holly Hay and Curator Shonagh Marshall.

Thanks are in order for all involved in this year’s Open Call Exhibition including our sponsors: Fujifilm for supplying the paper, theprintspace for printing the twelve outstanding series that were proudly displayed. Thank you to CineStill Film, Parallax Photographic, Stack Magazines, and Industry Art for supplying the winning three series prizes, and to Jägermeister for sponsoring refreshments for both the private view and the day of talks.

To all those who entered this year’s Open Call, we were overwhelmed by the level of talent we saw, and cannot wait to see what comes next from everyone who took the time to enter.

Please see below some imagery covering the span of our five-day display. To see a selection of the twelve series featured in this year’s Open Call, please click here.
