Michael Van Der Ham is known for his confident use of textures through the combination of the unexpected. This season certainly did not disappoint, competently presenting a collection of tailored pieces, delicate fabrics and bold prints, all the while maintaining a suitably feminine edge.
The accessibility of both the fabrics and colours of this collection denoted the garment’s wearability on and off the catwalk. While some pieces contained eye-popping collages of print, others were subdued and subtle.
The palette ranged between canary yellows, pumpkin oranges to the subtlest of navies; showing Van Der Ham’s perfect eye for showcasing the unanticipated.
Sexiness was his signature point of call throughout. Be it with the feminine cut out pattern on a shirt, a thigh high split on the skirt, or a clinched-in waist. Each look spoke truly spoke for itself and Van Der Ham continues to inspire and surprise us with each collection he presents.
